Germany’s Hermann Klincke places its trust in EBNER annealing technology.

Hermann Klincke J. H. Sohn GmbH & Co. KG has been successfully producing wire for almost 200 years. This drawn wire manufacturer, rich in tradition and a member of the Claas/Klincke group of wire producers, placed an order earlier this year with EBNER Industrieofenbau GmbH of Leonding, Austria for additional HICON/H2 bell annealer equipment. This new facility will be designed to heat treat coils of steel wire in hydrogen atmosphere.

The scope of supply includes two high-convection workbases with high atmosphere recirculation, at which charges of wire up to 65 tons in weight can be heat treated. It also includes one heating bell, one cooling bell and state-of-the-art processing and supervisory technologies.

Additional features include:

  • A thermal energy recovery system to recycle waste heat, which will be used to heat a wire pickling unit with hot water.
  • Equipment necessary to fulfill the requirements of the CQI-9 standard, including VISUALFURNACES software module SURVEYperfect. This module provides optimized execution, evaluation and documentation of the regular system tests and uniformity surveys required by CQI-9.
  • Design features allowing later expansion of the facility’s capacity.

The facility is scheduled to start production in the first quarter of 2023.
