Hydrogen Recycling

The hydrogen recycling system minimizes hydrogen loss by efficiently filtering and reusing it during the process. This approach enhances energy efficiency, reduces hydrogen consumption, and supports long-term operational cost savings.

  • Hydrogen contaminated with lubricant is removed via the outburner (the energy is reused in the heating bell).
  • Hydrogen minimally contaminated (e.g., from the soaking phase) is stored and reused as a process atmosphere during the heating phase (lubricantevaporation phase) of the next process.
  • In bell annealer facilities, hydrogen consumption can be reduced 10 % – 45 %, depending on the operating mode.
  • For continuous annealing furnaces, hydrogen consumption can be cut by up to 75 % without influencing strip surface properties.
