Partnership and Innovation: EBNER and Waelzholz Focus on ECO Mode
The long-standing partnership between EBNER and Waelzholz, headquartered in Hagen, Germany, is an outstanding example of how successful collaboration and technological innovation go hand in hand. Waelzholz has been a valued EBNER customer for many years. The production site in Hagen stands as a symbol of this innovative spirit: it operates not only one of the first EBNER HICON-H2 bell annealers but also state-of-the-art annealing bases—from internal coolers to the latest GREENBAFx® annealing base featuring a directly heated annealing chamber.
Rethinking Energy Efficiency: ECO Mode at Waelzholz in Hagen
With the support of Waelzholz, EBNER developed the innovative software module ECO Mode.
This module reduces energy consumption throughout the entire annealing cycle by applying a mathematical model, without compromising quality or process reliability.
To implement the ECO Mode software module on the line, an upgrade to the latest control system version was mandatory. This step not only ensured technical feasibility but also future-proofed the production processes in a sustainable way.
Thanks to the successful application for an environmental subsidy, a comprehensive modernization project could be launched. The funding highlights the importance of energy efficiency in the industry and serves as a clear hallmark of quality for this investment.
We are proud to be working together on yet another project that paves the way toward a more resource-efficient future.
Once again, the long-standing partnership between EBNER and Waelzholz demonstrates: technological innovation and successful collaboration go hand in hand.
